Detached ADUs

Interior of an ADU

Detached ADUs are separate from the primary structure.

A detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a small home that can be built on the same lot alongside another, larger single-family home, or as a part of a community development.

The City will create a separate address (separate electric meter is not required but recommended).

They are self-sufficient dwellings and contain a kitchen, a living area, bathroom facilities, and bedroom(s) with a maximum size of 1,000 square feet. There should also be privacy from the main dwelling.
