After Hours Assistance
To report a sick, injured or aggressive animal, please call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. at 951.247.8700, and press Option 5 to contact a live person at the Dispatch Center.
The Dispatch Center will contact the on-call Animal Control Officer. Be sure to disable call blocking on your phone before calling.

Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
Looking for a new best friend? To celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, the City of Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees from Monday, October 6 through Friday, October 10. Every adoption includes spay/neuter surgery at no cost, so your new companion is ready to come home with you. Our shelter dogs come in all sizes, ages, and personalities, and every one of them is waiting for a family. Stop by, meet a few, and find the one that fits your home.

Whisker Wednesdays
$10 Cat & Kitten Adoptions Every Wednesday
Every Wednesday this fall, you can bring home a new feline friend for just $10. Cat and kitten adoptions at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter are $10 on September 30 and October 7, 14, 21, and 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each adoption includes: Spay or neuter surgery Age-appropriate vaccines A registered microchip 30 days of complimentary pet insurance If your new pet hasn't been spayed or neutered yet, they'll stay with us for the surgery. You can take them home on the afternoon of their surgery day.

Free Microchips for MoVal Pets
The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter has another FREE service for Moreno Valley pet owners: FREE microchips for the month of may. Here are the requirements:
- BE A MORENO VALLEY RESIDENT (Proof of residency required, drivers license, utility bill, etc. with a Moreno Valley address)
- UP TO 4 PETS PER HOUSEHOLD
First come - first served, no appointment needed.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Voucher
Minimal out-of-pocket cost for qualifying low-income Moreno Valley residents. Spay-Neuter vouchers are only for dogs age six months and older and 30 POUNDS AND OVER. A limited number of vouchers are available. No appointment is necessary.
For qualifying low-income residents, bring your dog, proof of Moreno Valley residency, and proof of income.
When: Tuesday - Friday: 11 am - 5 pm
Saturday: 11 am 3 pm.

The easiest way to help the animals in the Moreno Valley Animal shelter is by donating items on our wish list.
Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) Program
In just eight years, two feral cats can produce 11,000 feral kittens, which leads to overpopulation. The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter's TNR program, which has been in operation since 2015, humanely captures feral cats and conducts spay and neuter operations to reduce smell and noise caused by male cats, reduce rodent populations in neighborhoods, and help control the cat population in Moreno Valley.
Since the program began, the Shelter has serviced over 3,100 of our feline friends! Moreno Valley provides these vital initiatives so our community and our cats continue to thrive.
