Cooling Centers at City's Main Library, Senior Center Offer Refuge from Extreme Heat

For immediate release: August 29,2019

With temperatures predicted to reach triple digits across Riverside County over the Labor Day weekend, health officials are urging the community to take precautions against the extreme heat.

If temperatures reach 100 degrees or higher, Moreno Valley residents can take refuge from rising temperatures at cooling centers located at the Moreno Valley Main Library and the Moreno Valley Senior Center.

"It's vitally important that seniors and the medically fragile get some relief from the heat," said Dr. Yxstian A. Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "If it's dangerously hot at home, we urge residents to visit the Library or the Senior Center."
