Khan Academy – Educational Videos for the Whole Family
Khan Academy provides free, world-class education to 90 million learners in 190 countries. Khan Academy is 100% free for parents, teachers and students. Khan provides:

  • Personalized learning: Students practice at their own pace, first filling in gaps in their understanding and then accelerating their learning.
  • Trusted content: Created by experts, Khan Academy’s library of trusted, standards-aligned practice and lessons covers math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history, AP, SAT, and more. It’s all free for learners and teachers.
  • Tools to empower teachers: With Khan Academy, teachers can identify gaps in their students’ understanding, tailor instruction, and meet the needs of every student.

CK-12 – Free Online Textbooks
The CK-12 Foundation is a California-based non-profit organization which aims to increase access to low-cost K-12 education in the United States. CK-12 provides free and customizable K-12 open educational resources aligned to state curriculum standards. CK-12 was set up to support K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education. And is available to help students and parents meet their educational goals.

Common Sense Media – Tools to Keep Children Stay Safe Online
Common Sense Media is a non-profit organization that provides education and advocacy to families to promote safe technology and media for children. Common Sense Media reviews books, movies, TV shows, video games, apps, music, and websites and rates them in terms of age-appropriate educational content, positive messages/role models, violence, profanity, and more for parents making media choices for their children.

Common Sense Media has also developed a set of ratings that are intended to gauge the educational value of videos, games, and apps. The non-profit's "Learning Ratings" attempt to assess different types of learning qualities within various forms of media.

Moreno Valley Community Adult Education
Moreno Valley Community Adult School is on a mission to provide quality education and enrichment opportunities that transition adult students to becoming self-directed learners and contributing members of society. To accomplish these worthwhile goals, they offer classes that are sorely needed and much-appreciated in our community, such as:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL), Citizenship, Adult Basic Education, High School Diploma, and General Educational Development for high school (GED) equivalency classes.
  • They also work closely with the local business community to provide various Career Technical Education (CTE) and other training courses.
  • They also offer computer skills, Microsoft certification, logistics, pharmacy tech, and phlebotomy classes on campus.

USA Learns is a free website that helps adults learn English and prepare for U.S. citizenship online. This popular website, visited by nearly 14,000,000 adults around the world, teaches English and U.S. citizenship by providing engaging multimedia content and educational activities. Learners have the opportunity to study independently or with the support of their teacher.

Moreno Valley College
Career and Technical Education
The Moreno Valley College is committed to educating and empowering our students, providing equitable access to education, and serving our communities. Moreno Valley College's core mission can be expressed in four words: Education, Empowerment, Equity, Service. Each semester, more than 14,000 students pursue associates degrees, transfer to a four-year college or university, or a career certificate that qualifies them to enter their chosen field.

MVC offers instruction at two sites, a main campus located in the city of Moreno Valley and an off-campus site, the Ben Clark Training Center, located approximately 11 miles from the main campus.
