Mayor's Message
Serving as Mayor of Moreno Valley for 2010 is a tremendous honor for me and represents my fourth term as Mayor of our wonderful community.
It is appropriate to begin a new year and a new term as Mayor with what I call an "Attitude of Gratitude." I am grateful for countless blessings in my life. In particular I am grateful to my City Council colleagues for giving me the opportunity to serve as Mayor, even though this might be my most challenging term.
While we will provide services to our residents with a much smaller city workforce, I am determined that we will continue to provide quality services that the people of Moreno Valley expect and deserve. We may not respond to the community's needs as quickly as we have in the past, but I assure you we will respond. One service in particular that we will continue is to assist our residents looking for work with the free services the City provides at the Employment Resource Center. We at City Hall will continue to focus on creating new job opportunities in our City.
I ask all of you to join me in keeping in mind that this economic condition we are experiencing is temporary, that it will turn around and life will become better for all of us. I especially ask you to remember that tough times never last, but tough people do. I predict confidently that 2010 will be a better year than 2009 was. Let's greet it with an ongoing attitude of gratitude.
Thank you for taking the time to review our City's Web site. City Staff is constantly updating the information provided on the different web pages, and you can watch our City Council meetings live via webstreaming or view past meetings by clicking on "Watch MVTV-3" on the home page.
