Emerging Leaders Council (ELC)
The Emerging Leaders Council (ELC) was established by City Council on April 8, 2014. The purpose of the ELC is to:
- Identify Moreno Valley students ages 14-20 with the desire and potential to become community leaders
- Educate those students in local and regional government policies and activities
- Focus their efforts on community service in Moreno Valley
Mission Statement
The Mission of the Emerging Leaders Council is: “Serving, connecting, and empowering youth and young adults to become future leaders, while making a difference in our community.”
The Emerging Leaders Council consists Eight members with term expirations to be determined. Some of the objectives include creating opportunities for public discussion of issues of importance to the community’s youth and young adults and communicating those issues to the City Council. They will also make recommendations to the City Council regarding youth-related programs, services, and legislation. Appointments are made by the City Council.
The ELC meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m., Conference and Recreation Center - Teen S.P.O.T., 14075 Frederick St.
